Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating a YoTip page or using the YoTip service (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use YoTip. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that the mobile money account you connect belongs to you.

3. Creator Pages

YoTip provides a platform for creators to receive tips from their supporters via mobile money. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your page content accurate and appropriate.
  • Ensuring your connected mobile money number is correct and active.
  • Complying with all applicable laws regarding receiving payments in your country.

4. Tipping & Payments

Supporters send tips through their mobile money provider (MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, or M-Pesa). YoTip processes and routes these tips to the creator’s YoTip balance. Tips are non-refundable unless there is clear evidence of fraud or a technical error. YoTip reserves the right to reverse fraudulent transactions.

5. Service Fee

YoTip takes a small percentage fee from each tip received. The current fee rate is displayed on your dashboard. YoTip may change the fee rate with 30 days’ notice. No monthly subscription or upfront cost is required to maintain your page.

6. Withdrawals

You may withdraw your YoTip balance to your connected mobile money account at any time. Withdrawals are typically processed within minutes but may take up to 24 hours depending on the mobile money provider. YoTip is not responsible for delays caused by the network operator or your bank.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use YoTip for illegal purposes, including fraud or money laundering.
  • Post content that is hateful, abusive, or infringes on the rights of others.
  • Attempt to bypass YoTip’s fee structure or manipulate the payment system.
  • Use automated tools to create pages or send tips.

8. Account Suspension

YoTip reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms. If your account is suspended, any remaining balance will be paid out to your registered mobile money account after a 30-day review period.

9. Limitation of Liability

YoTip is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. YoTip is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount of fees we have collected from your account in the 3 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through a notice on the YoTip dashboard before they take effect. Continued use of YoTip after changes means you accept the new Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Kampala, Uganda.
